Saudi Society of Optometry was founded in 12-04-1428, a scientific society in the field of optometry and vision science. The Saudi Society of Optometry is under the umbrella of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (Resolution No. 8/A/28).
The SSO has the vision of promoting the delivery of quality eye and vision care to Saudis through the practice of optometry and in providing continuous education and training services to the eye care professionals.

Dr. Waleed M. Alghamdi
I am an Associate professor, consultant, and the former head of the optometry department at Qassim University. I also serve as the current head of the scientific committee of the Eastern Mediterranean Council of Optometry, and a visiting research fellow at University of New South Wales. I obtained my BSc in Optometry from King Saud University, and a Masters and a PhD in Optometry from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. My research interests mainly focus on Contact lens, Dry eye disease and Community eye health. I also serve in a several committees and foundations concerning eye head and blindness prevention.

Dr.Mosaad Alhassan

Graduated with a bachelor degree in Optometry from King Saud University in 2008. In 2013, graduated with Master’s degree in Vision Science, then in 2018 graduated with PhD in Vision Science from School of Optometry and Vision Science, University of Waterloo, Canada.
In 2021, I became a fellow for American Academy of Optometry (FAAO)
